Following its debut almost a decade ago the Toyota Tundra found an audience with primarily recreational pickup owners, people looking for a utility vehicle for the occasional job, but not for heavy duty use. Toyota hopes to gain the allegiance of more demanding pickup truck drivers with the Tundra’s 2010 updates.

Schaumburg Tundra dealers are pleased with Toyota’s recent upgrades for the big-rig truck. The Tundra’s standard easy maneuverability, surprisingly quiet ride and roomy cargo bed are still present but the added features, commanding styling updates and more fuel efficient motor ensure that the Tundra can answer all your big-rig pickup needs.

Schaumburg Tundra sales have suffered in the past due to the vehicle’s low fuel economy and soaring gas prices. However, the Japanese auto company is working to remedy this and has outfitted the Toyota Tundra with a smaller more efficient motor.

The truck’s new base engine model is a 310 horsepower 4.6 liter V-8 that gives the big-rig more power while reducing fuel consumption. The Tundra is also available in a top of the line 380 horsepower 5.7 liter V-8 engine. Both models run on a 6 speed automatic transmission.

With its new engine the 2010 Tundra achieves a more respectable fuel economy of 19-20 mpg on the highway and 14-15 mpg for city driving.

The Tundra is available in several trim levels, all of which sport styling upgrades including new grills. The base edition grill now sports horizontal venting, adding the truck’s imposing big-rig feel. The high-end Limited edition Tundra now features a bold chrome grill to accent its strong frame.

The storage space you will find in the new Tundra is enough to make even a Schaumburg Corolla driver jealous. The surprisingly roomy cabins even feature a bi-level glove box with improved content organization on the lower level and a deep center consol that can easily fit a laptop.

The Tundra continues to be available in three cabin options. Buyers have a choice of the Regular cab, extended-length Double Cab or a four door CrewMax cabin style, all of which have the option of four-wheel drive. The pickup has multiple length options for the truck bed depending upon your cabin choice. The many possible configurations add to the Tundra’s appeal as they allow drivers to really customize the truck to their needs.

Whatever your pickup truck needs, Schaumburg Toyota Corolla and Tundra dealer is sure to meet them with this impressive machine.

You all should get to know my Uncle Jack. This is the man who has coined many a phrase in his neck of the swamp that is Southern Illinois. One of the top on the list is and will always be when talking about OnStar. When a friend of his was showing off their new truck and bragging about how they had a system that would help them whenever they broke down or were in trouble, my Uncle Jack was perfect. He talked about and brought it to the attention of all that maybe the reason they put that system in the car is because they know you’re going to be in trouble.

And hey, Toyota had the same idea. Little late Toyota as we’ve already found out about your cars that do everything for you. They get better gas mileage, retain their value, and even accelerate for you so you don’t have to. Let’s face it that is just good service.

I live in Chicago, Toyota hybrid territory. Please do not misunderstand; I am over flowing with jealousy watching those people get their precious mpg’s while I guzzle my way around the city streets. All kidding aside, we have reached a point in our society and technology that it makes sense that your car should do the work for you. I firmly believe we’re rightfully owed flying cars still and a timeshare on the moon, but sadly I have to settle for lame fantasies like Total Recall. Wait, there were no flying cars in that movie either. Though there was that lame Johnny cab thing that blows up at the utterance of vulgarity.

People have we not reached a future where every auto operator is owed the courtesy of the car phoning for help on its own when we roll it down the highway end over end? This humble motorist with too many reckless driving violations says absolutely. I’m sure that my ways will catch up with me sooner or later and it would be great to know that while the police and fireman are on their way I can order a Jimmy Johns sandwich and have it freaky fast to enjoy inverted while I wait.

The Toyota Prius is a widely popular vehicle and Toyota will use that popularity to springboard the new plug in version of the Prius. Toyota will distribute a select amount of plug in Prius automobiles to organizations across the country to test the car before its mass distribution. Schaumburg Prius dealers are excited about the debut of the plug in Prius and believe it will do well in the auto market. Toyota hopes this trail period will eliminate any issues with the Prius before it is available to the public in 2012.

The Toyota Prius currently is a hybrid midsize vehicle. The Prius is environmentally friendly in every way from the amazing fuel efficiency to the bioplastics used to create the interior of the automobile. The Prius comes equipped with many options including a Navigation Package with a voice activated system to a Solar Roof Package that keeps the car cool even when passengers aren’t inside. The new plug in Prius should share the same options as the previous generation hybrids, with one significant difference, more electrical power.

The plug in Prius works just like it sounds, it needs to be plugged in for the car to charge. This new Prius still uses gasoline, however the battery pack on this Prius is much stronger and lasts much longer. The Prius can be plugged in to a house wall or recharged at charging stations that will begin popping up around the country. Currently, Coulomb Technologies is supplying charging stations for the organizations that are participating in the Prius trial period.

If the Toyota Prius is fully charged the automobile can run solely on electricity for 13 miles. After that the gasoline motor begins to power the automobile. Schaumburg Prius drivers are eager to see the new plug in version of the Prius. The plug in version can only add to the credibility and popularity of the Prius.

Toyota plans to continue to perfect the Prius as well as create a new electric car. Toyota plans to pair up with Telsa Motors of Palo Alto to produce a new incredible electric vehicle. Visit your Schaumburg Sienna dealership or any local Toyota dealer for more information on the new plug in Prius.

Toyota’s newest creation has officially “wowed” audiences, as well as sales consultants at Toyota dealers. The new Toyota iQ has made its debut, and to prove how uniquely nimble the vehicle is, the car company has created a commercial unlike any other – by making the iQ act as a computer mouse.

Owners of a Schaumburg Prius may agree that Toyota has had some impressive advertisement campaigns in the past, but nothing like the one to promote the Toyota iQ. During the commercial, the audience is first informed of how the technical team was able to give the Toyota iQ the ability to mimic a computer mouse. Consequently, a computer was created to scale, and the magic began. What I saw was very interesting and impressive. The iQ was actually used as a super-sized computer mouse to navigate through a computer menu, select a file of an image (particularly an image of what the audience is watching on their television set – the iQ in front of a super-sized computer), draw a Toyota symbol, and insert the text “nimble as a mouse” into a text box and place it next to the Toyota symbol on the image. Having watched it several times, the commercial blew my mind each moment.

After the demonstration, the vehicle proceeded to create a tic-tac-toe board on the computer using the same program, and then play with a member of the exclusive audience that was present during the shooting of the commercial. Afterward, other members were allowed to get in the driver’s seat and test the iQ mouse for themselves, during which one individual was able to create a “smiley face” on the computer. After seeing the footage, I would conclude that Toyota has definitely made its point.

But how was the car company able to create such a vehicle as “nimble as a mouse?” The size undoubtedly contributes to that ability: being 117.5 inches long, the iQ incredibly seats four passengers. Even more astounding, the mechanical parts have been compressed to gain passenger space, not to mention 66.1 inches in width, while allowing the model to remain the size of a minicar. Available in Europe and Japan, dealerships are curious to see how successful iQ sales will be. Not much can be said as of whether or not the vehicle will be available for consumers in the United States, but those shopping for a Schaumburg Prius can consult a sales representative at the Toyota dealers for more information. Nevertheless, I encourage everyone to watch the video featuring the amazing capabilities of the new Toyota iQ.

The world’s largest automaker, Toyota Motor Corporation has recently announced its intent to purchase a $50 million stake in Tesla Motors Inc, an electric-car producer who has been working steadily on producing green models.

Also Telsa will be purchasing a closed Toyota joint-venture plant in California which will be utilized in building a Model S among other vehicles. The two automotive companies will work together in developing electric cars, parts, developing engineering and producing more refined production systems.

This will surely make Toyota a more worthy competitor against Nissan Motor Company and General Motors Company, in terms of producing and selling electric cars in the United States. The regulations on greenhouse gas emissions’ and fuel efficiency is forcing the automotive industry to build more responsible cars. Toyotas tarnished imaged, thanks to the atrocious eight million plus battery recalls, could be forgotten once Toyota starts heavily pushing electric vehicles. The revival of the New United Motor Manufacturing Inc. Plant named “Nummi” will aid in this process.

Telsa is based in Palo Alto California, where Toyota is based in Japan. Telsa is the only company currently selling U.S. highway-legal batter powered cars.

Toyota is not the only automotive company getting in on the action as the world’s second-biggest maker of luxury vehicles, Daimler AG also invested $50 million in Tesla, which will supply the company with battery packs for an advanced fleet of electronic Smart Minicars.

Although the initial $50 million investment was reduced by roughly five percent, which was sold to Aabar Investments PJSC, all partnerships are still intact.

Toyota has plans to produce a short-range electric car for the U.S. Market and they will begin selling their highly anticipated plug-in Prius hybrid, which has impressive distance and speed capabilities, in 2012. The Prius has already proven that there is a demand for hybrid vehicles in the U.S. and that demand has only just begun to grow, they are currently sold at Toyota dealers around the U.S.

Toyota intends to offer a short-range electric car in the U.S. and begin retail sales of a plug-in Prius hybrid. The plug-in Prius will be sold at your local Schaumburg Sienna dealers sometime in 2012.

The Toyota electric vehicles, which will be sold at your local Toyota dealers, will have to go toe to toe with the Nissan LEAF, which is an electric halfback planned for release in late 2010.

On May 11, 2010, following a year marred by recalls and government inquiries, Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) announced their financial results for the fiscal year that ended March 31, 2010 citing net revenues that totaled 18.95 trillion yen, about $210 billion. Even though this may seem quite a hefty sum, the amount represents a decrease of 7.7 percent compared to the last fiscal year. Used Toyota Rav4 dealer noted that TMC has accomplished year-on year improvement in all regions for the fiscal year, with regard to operating income.

TMC was surprisingly profitable in North America, despite the recalls they underwent this year. Toyota vehicle sales totaled 2.1 million units, a decrease of 114 thousand units. Despite the decrease in sales there were still over 7 million people around the world who purchased new Toyotas (and who TMC President Akio Toyoda was sure to thank in his speech). With the Camry and Sequoia having been recalled, Toyota Rav4 Schaumburg dealers noted that more Toyota customers showed interest in vehicles with a legacy, such as the Rav4. According to the Toyota press room, “TMC estimates that consolidated vehicle sales for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2011 will be 7.29 million units, an increase of 53 thousand units from fiscal year 2010, due to increased sales volume in regions outside of Japan.” TMC’s plan to increase sales outside of Japan has already been enacted in their US plants where they have stepped up production.

The Japanses motor giant won’t be depending solely on sales of its old successes, such as the Toyota Rav4 Schaumburg dealerships have been selling steadily since their launch. Toyota declared their intention to maintain their innovative spirit and stay at the forefront of the green movement at the American International Auto Show in Detroit where they unveiled the FT-CH concept car along with their plan to launch eight all-new hybrid models or all-new hybrid versions of existing gas engine models over the next few years. Not the move of a company content to subsist on used Toyota Rav4 sales.

Operating income increased by 475.6 billion yen to 85.4 billion yen including 31.3 billion yen of valuation profits from interest rate swaps. Operating income excluding the impact of valuation profit on interest rate swaps increased by 417.1 billion yen, to 54.1 billion yen, mainly due to improved market conditions and financial services.

The Toyota Camry and the Honda Accord have some similarities, but which is the better buy? Both of these midsize automobiles are reasonably priced and have a sporty look that makes them great for any driver. Each of these cars has pros and cons and when weighed against each other, the Camry comes out victorious. Schaumburg Camry agrees the Toyota Camry has many categories weighted in its favor.

One of the biggest selling points these days is the price of an automobile. The sticker price of a 2010 Toyota Camry can range from $19,400 to about $29,000. The 2010 Honda Accord is priced similarly from $21,000 to $29,300. Starting off the Camry has the lowest sticker price allowing car buyers a lower jumping off point to start negotiations. The highest price for the Camry and the Accord is about the same, thus car drivers will pay about the same base price for the most amount of add ons with these vehicles. The Camry’s lower base price allows more room for negotiation, but as far as price goes there is not much of a difference between these two cars.

The Toyota Camry has a 2.5 liter 179 horsepower engine option as well as a 3.5 liter V6 with 268 horsepower. The Camry is capable of 22 miles per gallon fuel economy in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. The Honda Accord has a 2.4 liter engine under the hood that reaches 177 horsepower or a 3.5 V6 with 271 horsepower. The Accord has a slightly lower fuel efficiency with 22 miles per gallon city and 31 mpg highway.

The Camry and Accord has similar exteriors but the interiors vary a little more. The Toyota Camry has more cargo room in the trunk with 15 cubic feet of space. The Camry also has a bigger sound system in its higher priced models. Both the Camry and Accord feature an upgraded sound system in the higher end models but the Camry boasts and eight speaker 440 watt system while the Accord settles with a 270 watt 7 speaker system. Both automobiles feature a navigation system as well as other upgrades.

While these vehicles have a lot in common the Toyota Camry seems to come out on top in more than one category. Not only is the Toyota Camry priced better for the same amount of power and space but it is also the safer vehicle. The Camry received a five star rating in every category from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration while the Accord only received five stars in three categories. Visit your local Schaumburg Camry dealer for more information on the Toyota Camry.

With the Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid having 134 miles per gallon on its all-electric mode, doesn’t it make sense to use the Plug-in as a model for other car variations, like a minivan? Think about all the small businesses and local delivery trucks that could help reduce carbon dioxide emissions with the usage of a hybrid Prius minivan or all the soccer moms that could take their kids to practice without using a drop of gasoline.

Toyota, the world’s largest car company, is planning on designing a minivan based around the Prius platform. Adding extra length and width wouldn’t serve as a difficult task and they already offer compact minivans in Japan and Europe.

It was reported by Nikkei that Toyota will launch a Prius hybrid minivan, although this has yet to be confirmed by Toyota.

The only segment in the United States lacking a reasonable hybrid is the minivan segment and family oriented shoppers are leaning towards going green, so the market is definitely there. The magazine also reported that the seat situation would be flexible allowing for users to manipulate seat positions and create space for luggage.

This would not be Toyota’s first attempt at a hybrid minivan; they currently sell the Toyota Estima in Japan which uses a single electric motor and a mechanical CVT in its transmission. The Estima has been in production and on the market since 2001 and is considered by most the first hybrid minivan, ever. It is up until now that Toyota has decided to bring a new hybrid minivan to the US. Alternative Toyota minivans can be purchased at your local Schaumburg Sienna dealership.

Executives have been speaking publicly about using the Prius platform on different kinds of cars. They have mentioned their interest in sifting from a single vehicle approach to a multiple model approach manipulating plug-in hybrid formats, electric cars and conventional hybrid cars.

There is some concern about the lithium ion battery technology which is currently being used in the Toyota Prius Plug-in hybrid as Toyota executives still have high hopes for the usage of nickel metal hydride in their hybrid vehicles.

You can speak to representatives at your local Schaumburg Prius dealer for further details on current and future Prius models.
