Last car standing wins: Toyota Camry vs. Honda Accord
The Toyota Camry and the Honda Accord have some similarities, but which is the better buy? Both of these midsize automobiles are reasonably priced and have a sporty look that makes them great for any driver. One of the biggest selling points these days is the price of an automobile. The sticker price of a 2010 Toyota Camry can range from $19,400 to about $29,000. The Honda Accord has a 2.4 liter engine under the hood that reaches 177 horsepower or a 3.5 V6 with 271 horsepower. The Accord has a slightly lower fuel efficiency with 22 miles per gallon city and 31 mpg highway.
The Camry and Accord has similar exteriors but the interiors vary a little more. The Toyota Camry has more cargo room in the trunk with 15 cubic feet of space. The Camry also has a bigger sound system in its higher priced models. Both the Camry and Accord feature an upgraded sound system in the higher end models but the Camry boasts and eight speaker 440 watt system while the Accord settles with a 270 watt 7 speaker system. Both automobiles feature a navigation system as well as other upgrades.
While these vehicles have a lot in common the Toyota Camry seems to come out on top in more than one category. Not only is the Toyota Camry priced better for the same amount of power and space but it is also the safer vehicle. The Camry received a five star rating in every category from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration while the Accord only received five stars in three categories.
